Corbett Tiger Reserve, recognized as India's first national park, is nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas at an elevation of 3300 feet above sea level, covering an area of 520 square kilometers. The majestic Ramganga River traverses the entire length of the park. Corbett boasts the highest density of tigers in India. Other carnivorous species found here include leopards, elephants, bears, and deer. Sunbathing along the banks of the Ramganga are the slender-snouted gharial and the marsh crocodile.
